FAQs

  1. What do we wear?
Wear what you’re comfortable in! Dress up, dress down, go with the Valentine’s theme – you do you! As long as your outfits are school appropriate, it will work!

  2. Can I bring the whole family? What about siblings that do not attend BCEL/Pine River?
This event is open to current BCEL and Pine River students, staff, and their immediate families. Moms/dad/guardians and any additional siblings that may attend other schools are welcome to join so long as a wristband is purchased for each attendee. Also note that this is “family” dance and a parent/guardian must be present the entire time. Middle/high schoolers should not be dropped off on their own or act as the adult chaperon.

  3. Do infants/young children need a wristband?
Children under the age of 2 may attend free of charge.

  4. Do volunteers need to purchase a wristband?
No, volunteers do not need to buy a wristband.

  5. This event is not in my budget. Is there any financial assistance available?
The BC/PR PTO wants to ensure that financial constraints are never a reason a student is not fully able to participate in any school activity. Years ago, the Angel Fund was established to help ease financial barriers and ensure an inclusive experience and sense of belonging is apparent to every student. Should you need assistance to attend this event, please reach out to bcprpto@gmail.com or your child’s teacher/school.

  6. What happened to the “Me and My Favorite Fella” dance (historical event exclusive to girls and their father/other favorite fella)?
We are excited to introduce a new family dance format, designed to welcome and celebrate all students, all family members, and all family types. This change ensures that every student has the opportunity to enjoy a special evening with the people who matter most to them. The family dance concept allows us to bring our entire school community together, strengthening connections, and fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion for all. We hope this new event will create meaningful memories for everyone in our school community!
