Holiday Parade Student Luminaries
The BC/PR PTO is happy to invite all BCEL and Pine River students to join in the decorating of the Holiday Parade route this year! Students will be provided with a white paper bag, which will be lit with a small LED light and act as a luminary during the parade. Teachers may choose to complete this activity as a class, or they may send home with students as a take-home project (so you may not receive a bag for each student). Students can sign their work, but the completed projects will be kept for future use by the PTO and not returned home.
Please return to school no later than Tuesday, November 29.
Directions
- Activity: Decorate just one side of the bag. There is a front and back side; the back has a vertical seam in the middle. The design will look better when illuminated if placed on the front / non-seam side.
- Theme: Students should be creative, but may wish to keep their design related to the holidays or school spirit.
- Medium: Students may use any medium to create their design – marker, paint, paper, anything. High contrast, bold images are suggested so they can be seen from a distance (such as dark colored construction paper cut outs, dark colored marker, etc).
